OVER 8.5 mil for the Inlaws -115 for the FOUR day weekend at Wsex.

OVER 55 mil +160 for the THREE day weekend at Olympic. This one isn't as strong a play as the first one, up top, but, to get +160 on a play that has a 45% to 50% chance of cashing is the very DEFINITION of value.

Would like to get the thoughts of Lakerfan and Oren.

I'm just playin.
As I've said before, I'm not sure about Bruce... I was thinking about taking the over myself for the exact reasons you stated. It definitely has a decent chance of going slightly if not way over. But maybe not, the film itself doesn't really look THAT exciting, but it's had great marketing so we'll see...
With four days tallied into the Inlaws I wouldn't think you should have too much trouble hitting 8.5 million... but I'm starting to worry about that one for ya bud

but, I'm probably wrong.

Actually, the Bruce Almighty bet wasn't off the board when I posted it. And, if you take a look in the other thread about the In Laws, I had posted yesterday, I think, about taking the OVER. Either that, or this morning, but, that one was still on the board also. Again, I think that the In Laws bet is a gimme. 8.5 mil over a four day span is easy money. The other one could go either way, but, getting +160 meant that I was getting GREAT value.

I'll tell you right now... the odds are in your favor for the In-Laws bet, but it's not a gimme... it could still do 8.2 and you could lose. But I like your bet.

best,

Gil

It won't do less than 8.5 mil over the four days. Maybe over the three days, but not over the four. I can all but guarantee you that one.

But I thought that Olympic brought their movie props down at 11 am, you didn't post your picks until 7:58 pm! eastern time? Not that it matters. LOL. I knew you posted that in-laws play last night, but I couldn't wait for your response because the juice was rising for the under 9 million on my pick so I had to jump on it. Guess I might have to open an account at Wsex, sounds like they have good props there. If you want to get technical about it, you said you got it at over 8 million last night, not 8 1/2, what's the deal man?

that over 55 might be a winner there:

"5:55 show, 191-seater, 95% full.

Trailers:
1. The Hulk - Crickets
2. Dumb & Dumberer - I heard a lot of cheering when the voice-over optimistically said "the movie the original actors were too smart to make!"
3. Alex & Emma - A few positive whispers (from what I could tell)
4. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle - The best reaction of all the trailers, everyone was going "looks awesome!"
5. 2 Fast 2 Furious - Nothing

The movie was pretty funny. The serious stuff was rather sappy, but I guess that was to be expected. Jim Carrey was back to usual form, and Jennifer Aniston and Morgan Freeman were pretty good and gave it their all, despite Aniston being stuck in the standard girlfriend role, and Freeman not having a whole lot to do. I'd give the movie a B grade (hey, it was better than Anger Management). The crowd seemed to like it quite a bit, so word-of-mouth should be okay, at least. When I left: The Matrix Reloaded sold out the next two shows, at 7:50 and 8:35, Bruce Almighty was sold out for the 7:40, 8:25 and 9:00 shows (I heard the ticket guy mention to someone else at the counter that they needed to put up the SOLD OUT sign for the 9:35 show pretty soon). I also peeked on The In-Laws, which looked about 65-70% full on a 191-seater. Oh yes, I forgot, Holes and Lizzie McGuire sold out on 80-seaters. (I guess kids are going out in droves this weekend before Finding Nemo comes out). "

good luck.

Actually, I played it at OVER 8 mil then doubled up and played it at over 8.5 mil, when I realized that it was the 4 day weekend that was in question. I still like it to go over 8 mil for the three day, anyway.

And, as for Olympic, you are incorrect. They took down their props at 7pm central (8 pm Eastern).

Yeah, OLY left their BO props up late this week. I noticed that, too.

Bruce scored with $20 million on Friday, and your OV looks great. This movie will open huge and drop. In-Laws is going down in flames. Will barely clear $6 mil for the three-day. You might squeak by if the old timers use the holiday for a screening.
